God is Doing A “New Thing”
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43: 18-19
August is the eighth month. The number eight means new beginning. I want to start by asking you what is in your life that you are unwilling to give up in order for you to walk into the new destiny that God has for you. In the passage of scripture, Judah is called upon to forget when they struggled to be a nation among nations. God was not suggesting that His people forget the “former things, neither consider the things of old.” He was commanding them to forget the past. He told them, He was going to “do a new thing.”
If you are expecting God to do a new thing in your life in this season, it will require you to submit yourself to the leading of the Holy Spirit’s instructions and let go of the old that is drawing you back into the past. God wants to do a new thing, but you must yield yourself.
Therefore, let go of the old so that you can embrace the new. God has not left you nor forsaken you. He is shifting you into something new. Let go of old habits, mindset, way of doing things, relationships that are limiting and hindering you from moving forward into the new thing that God has for you. Paul tells us “to focus on this one thing: “Forgetting the past and look forward to what lies ahead” (Philippians 3:13, NLT). Break out of the old waste dry dessert places.
God is saying that He is going to release His people from the old into the new. God says He is separating and bringing new relationships, connections, favor, blessings, direction, opportunities, doors, positions, promotions, levels of revelation and insight. God says He will give you rivers in the dessert. Let the river of God flow. Let the wells spring up in you.
I thank God for the blood of Jesus which purges us from dead works, which has redeemed us from the curse of the law. God has redeemed us from the past, from a slave mentality and bondage. I decree and declare that we are a free people. Free to believe, love, and forgive. I declare that we will not be stuck in a cycle of defeat, but we are stepping into the new. I decree and declare that the month of August will be a breakthrough month, new territory, new grace, new strength, and new joy. I decree and declare this is the month of new beginning in which God’s people will experience divine release. Expect a deluge of new. God wants to do a new thing within the walls of our hearts, ministries, families and businesses. Let go of the old! Embrace the new!
